Collapse ▲On Saturday, August 16, 2025, the Granville County 4-H Popshots Club adventured to Ellerbe, NC for the Central Regional Shooting Sports tournament.
Youth competed in various shooting disciplines such as .22 Rifle, .22 Pistol, Shotgun, Archery, Muzzleloader, Air rifle and Air Pistol. Granville County had 29 youth represent them at the competition and placed extremely well in many of the disciplines with 20 advancing to the State tournament on October 4th.
The following youth represented our county and their club:
Addison Prothero, Amanda Wilson, Aubree Marsalone, Austin Mangum, Averi Prothero, Beau Wright, Brady Lloyd, Caleb Watkins, Connor Landon, Cullen Hight, Daniel Taylor, Declan Choate, Easton Hymiller, Forrest Michaelson, Jack Ennis, Jaxon Currin, JD Wilson, Josiah Altieri, Kaeden Jones, Kaylee Overby, Kipton Hymiller, Lawson Hymiller, Lillian Shaeffer, Lucas Williams, Mason Wilkins, Peyton Hight, Reagan Owens, Ronan Weary, Trevor Weary.

Senior Shotgun:
2nd place team- Caleb Watkins, Trevor Weary(3rd place overall), Daniel Taylor, Peyton Hight
3rd place team- Cullen Hight, Ronan Weary, Mason Wilkins
Senior Muzzleloader:
2nd place team- Reagan Owens (1st place overall), Averi Prothero, Kipton Hymiller
Senior Rifle- Telescopic:
Reagan Owens- 1st place individual
Senior Archery- Compound Hunter/sporter:
Reagan Owens- 3rd place individual
Senior Air Rifle:
Reagan Owens- 1st place overall and individual
Senior Small Bore Pistol:

Junior Shotgun:

We are so proud of all of our youth who competed, they have all worked so hard over the last year to prepare and their dedication has paid off! We look forward to states.
