We had 12 youth representing Granville County at the show in the beef, sheep and goat divisions.

We also had a grand champion feeder steer and showman, Wyatt Besaw, South Granville FFA and 4-H club member come out of our Butner Beef project! This young man had no cattle experience, but took the project on and has excelled! He started his steer Kevin from the ground up and we could not be more proud of his hard work!

Other highlights include 1st places in classes, call backs to champion drives and more!

We also had Lily Shaeffer place second in the 4-H junior project record book division! A feat not easily accomplished!

Beef: Madison Teel, Wyatt Besaw, Abby Shaeffer, Lily Shaeffer

Sheep: Emmy Dixon, Evey Dixon, Elly Dixon, Peyton Hight, Cullen Hight, Madison Thomerson, Madison Teel, Mason Wilkins Jacob Roberts, Wyatt Besaw, Lily Shaeffer

Also- shout out to our South Granville and Vance Charter FFA advisors Samantha Stewart and Kelly Dixon for continuing to partner with Granville County 4-H and Cooperative Extension and all of their hard work getting kids and animals to the show! We appreciate you both!

Another special thanks to volunteers April Shaeffer and Greg Shaeffer for running the Beef Cattle Program and helping fit animals for the show!

We are so proud of everyone!

What have we been up to?

Central Piedmont Junior Livestock Show

Granville Central Ag Fest

We had a wonderful day meeting students at the Granville Central Ag Fest! Thanks so much for having us!

C.G. Credle Garden Club Program

We have enjoyed working with our Credle Gardener 3rd graders twice a month. We are teaching them what a plant needs to grow, encouraging them to taste new vegetables, and exploring the world of agriculture together.

We had a wonderful day welcoming 111 Students from 5 schools to the Oxford Tobacco Research Station for our annual agriculture career day. We were joined by our community partners the North Carolina Forest Service, NCSU, NC A&T, USDA APHIS, NCDA, Cooperative Extension, and more! We had a great day! This event was made possible by Granville County Farm Bureau and Little Caesars of Oxford!
