Four County Poultry Show and Sale
Each year, we host a poultry project in conjunction with 3 other surrounding counties. Youth participating in the project receive 10 chicks in May to raise until our show in October in which 3 birds will be exhibited and auctioned off into great homes at the conclusion of the show. If you are interested in this project, please join us via Zoom on March 11th at 6:30 p.m.
March County Council Meeting
We will have our March County Council meeting on March 20th at the Granville County Cooperative Extension Office at 6:00 p.m. This is a meeting for all 4-H youth in the county. We will have a business meeting and a program focused around our presentation programs. Please join us!

Youth Market Turkey Show
The Youth Market Turkey Show is an awesome program in conjunction with the NC State Fair. Youth receive 1–3 turkey poults (baby turkeys) in June to raise and show one of them at the NC State Fair in October. The turkey shown is then taken to be processed and goes on to feed a family a wonderful Thanksgiving meal.
This is a great opportunity for youth to be hands-on with the animal agriculture processes and learn the responsibility and joy of animal husbandry. Sign-ups fill up quickly, so there is an informational Zoom on March 11th.

What have we been up to?
Achievement Night
We hosted our Annual Achievement Night banquet on February 6th at the beautiful High Rock Farms. This was a wonderful night to celebrate the achievements of our 4-H’ers for their 2024 program year. Highlights of the night include a speech and Q&A Session from our NC Representative, Bryan Cohn, awards programs and presentation, and our senior send-off. It was a lovely night! Congrats y’all!
