North Carolina Agriculture and Technical University (NC A&T) marks the 38th Annual Small Farms Week Celebration from March 24th to 30th, 2024. This event serves as a yearly homage to small-scale agriculture, featuring a range of in-person educational programs throughout the week. Activities will take place at the Environmental Sciences Extension and Research Farm Pavilion at A&T University. Farmers and members of the public keen on participating can register for all events through the Small Farms Week web page.

Each year, the N.C. Cooperative Extension, Granville County Center organizes its own events to bolster support for small farmers and raise public awareness about the significance of agriculture. Thanks to everyone who contributed to our Small Farms Week food drive. We will be delivering those meal bags to families across all of Granville County. Also, remember the Area Congregations in Ministry (ACIM) building is open for donations on M/W/F from noon to 1:00 p.m. or T/Th from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m.

Also, join N.C. Cooperative Extension and Kerr Tar Regional Council of Governments tonight at Thorndale Library for a discussion on our local food systems. This is your chance to share your experiences, challenges, and successes as a local farmer, processor, retailer, restaurant owner, farmers market vendor, food pantry, community partner, or community member in Granville County. It’s an opportunity to voice your thoughts and suggestions and have everyone come together in one room for an enriching conversation.

Thankful Thursday  – Thursday, March 28

Attention small-scale farmers! Swing by various community locations to grab a thank-you bag courtesy of Cooperative Extension! We value your contributions, and these bags are a small token of our gratitude for all that you do.
