In recognition of small farms week, you can join our agriculture agents as they travel around the county and talk with small farmers in the community. There will be 4 videos released that highlight small farms right in your community!
Dixon Farms has historically been a row crop farm with tobacco, corn, soybeans, and wheat. It still has those crops in its operation, but Kelly and Jason Dixon tell us about how they have diversified into fruit and vegetable production and agritourism! Kelly, an agriculture educator, is incredibly passionate about agriculture advocacy and teaching others about where their food comes from. She and Jason have worked together to develop an environment to do just that with you-pick strawberries, pumpkin patches, a petting zoo, corn mazes, and much more!
