(Updated: June 3, 2022, 7:47 a.m.)

A Forestry Field Day to be held on June 24 will highlight practices that landowners can use to enhance their woodland resources. Participants will learn first hand about the possible benefits of forest management techniques such as herbicide application and prescribed fire.

This free event will convene at 2 p.m. at the N.C. Forest Service office in Granville County (911 Hillsboro St, Oxford, NC 27565). From there, the group will proceed to two different field sites that show the results of the respective practices. Transportation to the field sites will be available, or personal vehicles may be used.

The sponsors of the Field Day are the N.C. Forest Service office for Granville County, along with the N.C. Cooperative Extension County Centers in Granville and Vance. Registration is required, and can be done on-line via Eventbrite or by contacting us via phone or email as listed below.
