Next month, we will help celebrate Diabetes Awareness Month by providing 2 different programs on Diabetes. Our Lunch N’ Learn workshop will focus on how to Take Charge of Your Diabetes During the Holidays. We will offer this workshop in person on Tuesday, November 9, 2021, from noon-1 p.m. at the Person County office Auditorium for a cost of $5. You must pre-pay and pre-register by November 5. We will offer this same workshop virtually on Tuesday, November 16 from noon-1 p.m. on Zoom. If you are looking for a little more in-depth information, we have a 4-week series we will be offering in November. Dining with Diabetes is a cooking and nutrition education program designed for people with diabetes and their family members or caregivers. In a series of four classes on Mondays, November 1–November 22 at 1:30 p.m. each week, we will help you learn healthy techniques to use in your own kitchen. The program will include recipes and videos of healthy foods along with a discussion about eating healthy while managing your diabetes.
You can register online for the virtual workshops at go.ncsu.edu/fcsregistration. Classes will be held virtually through Zoom and we will record the webinars so you can register and receive the information even if you are not able to join us for our live Zoom class.
