The N.C. Cooperative Extension, Person/Granville, Caswell and Orange County Centers are also joining forces to offer two in-person, hands-on canning workshops on Water Bath Canning on Tuesday, April 25th at 6:00pm and Pressure Canning on Thursday, May 25th at 6:00pm for only $10 each. Workshops will take place at the N.C. Cooperative Extension, Orange County Center Building on Hwy 70. These two workshops are for anyone who wants to take that virtual information and actually apply it in the kitchen getting some hands-on practice. Therefore, it is very important that you attend the virtual workshop on those specific topics to get all of that information before attending these in-person, hands-on classes. You can register at the Person, Granville, Orange or Caswell offices. Registration is first-come, first-serve and spots are limited. Your spot is not reserved until your payment is received.

Parmesan Air Fried Shrimp
Recipe Source – serves 4
1 lb. medium fresh shrimp, cleaned, tails optional
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon fresh ground pepper
1 tablespoon fresh squeezed lemon juice
1 teaspoon garlic powder
½ cup grated parmesan cheese
In a large bowl, add shrimp and coat in olive oil and lemon juice, season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder (you may use real minced garlic here). For best flavor, cover the bowl and refrigerate for 1-3 hours. Toss parmesan cheese into bowl with the shrimp, this will create a breading. Add shrimp to fryer basket and set air fryer to 350 for 10 minutes. Shrimp is done when they are opaque, white, and pink. Serve immediately.
