Crop Report for Week of April 20, 2021

— Written By

Watch out for Wednesday and Thursday nights as it could get cold and in some areas freeze. I know some tobacco plants have been set. If your plants get hit, call me as we have a contact for extra plants. Also, this means keeping the heat on those greenhouses and checking Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday mornings. Insect moth counts for budworm continue to rise and so are cutworm numbers. Corn is being planted but not up yet – cold soils may delay emergence, but daytime temps are warm enough for the surface. There are reports of Pythium, so use Terra Master 4EC. Let’s get past this week in tobacco and see what next week brings.
