Crop Report for Week of June 1, 2020

— Written By

Last of the tobacco being set, corn getting nitrogen, wheat fields close to harvest, and soybeans being planted and coming up! With all the rain the weeds are alive -scout fields for weeds and insects. many times after wind and weather shifts insects can become an issue. I am seeing an increase in all insects again in traps across the board. Black Cutworm, Army Worm, Bud Worm, Stinkbugs can all do damage to tobacco plants, corn, soybeans. Keep scouting fields and keep a close eye for any changes in the field. If you have questions please call the local N.C. Cooperative Extension office.
